MISTY METZ
Patient Care Coordinator/Dental Assistant
Misty is the first friendly face you see when you enter our practice. She served in the Navy for 5 years where she received her dental assistant training. She has worked in the dental field for more than 10 years.
When Misty isn't pursuing her Bachelors Degree at the NC College, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Zofia and their two dogs. Misty's spouse has recently retired from the Navy and decided to stay in NC.
Her helpful spirit and willing attitude makes her a great addition to our team.
MELISSA HEWITT
Melissa is our Jersey Girl. Her family moved here from New Jersey 5 years ago to be closer to her in-laws.
Melissa enjoys reading, gaming, working out and spending time with her husband and their three boys, Lucas, Sebastian and Nathan. Melissa is Argentinian and speaks fluent Spanish.
She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2006 and loves building relationships with her patients.
LAURIE WAINWRIGHT
Laurie grew up in Eastern Tennessee. She moved to Emerald Isle away from Chatham County, where she lived for 10 years.
Laurie lives within bike-riding distance of her extended family on the Isle. Laurie fishes and hunts with her husband, Eric during her free time.
Laurie received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene at CCCC in 2010. She is our only hygienist that is certified to administer local anesthesia. Recently, she was accepted to East Tennessee State University to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene.
MEREDITH SAWYER
Meredith is a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist with 16 years of experience in the field.
Originally hailing from the heartland of Iowa, she embarked on her dental hygiene journey at Armstrong Atlantic State University. After earning her degree, she spent many years honing her skills in Savannah, GA. Her time in the South has given her the charm of a true Southern Belle which is reflected in her approach to patient care.
Her patients appreciate her genuine attentiveness and ability to make them feel comfortable during their dental visits. The beautiful Crystal Coast is now her home, and she takes full advantage of the stunning coastal surroundings by spending time at the beach.

Patsy has been a dental assistant for over 30 years. She joined our practice early this year and we are lucky to have her. Her family is originally from Ohio, but she fell in love with North Carolina while her late husband was stationed here and decided to make our beautiful state her home. Her uplifting smile makes patients feel warm and welcome. She worked for Dr. John Davis back when he was practicing in Mooresville, NC. When she isn’t hard at work, she is usually at the beach, music festivals or camping.

Sterilization Technician
Meli is the newest member of our dental team.
Born and raised in North Carolina, she lives on her family farm with her son, Noel. Her parents are from a small state in Central Mexico, Hidalgo. She is fluent in Spanish. During Meli's free time, she enjoys music concerts, working out and dancing.
